Camp Comer Bound

In just a few hours, 15 Scouts will be heading off to Camp Comer as the first contingent from Troop 79 sponsored by All Saint’s Episcopal Church in Homewood, Alabama. Many have some Scouting experience, a few have done things similar, but this will hopefully be like nothing they have done before – in a GREAT way!

These Scouts have been outfitted from head to toe and gathered all their gear for the week. They’ve packed it in a duffle bag and are looking forward to settling in one of the camp tents. They have their Merit Badges classes picked out like Swimming, Rifle, and First Aid and are full of wonder for what is to become of this week we’ve been anticipating for months. I can’t wait to share what we see!

Check back daily for updates from Camp and wish us well!

Amazing Success at Garage Sale

20120705-205847.jpg

As you can see, the July 4th Garage Sale was extremely exhausting but totally worth it. We raised $5,000 in our first large fundraiser and will really be able to get a jumpstart on outfitting our young Troop! Thanks to everyone who donated and promoted and especially Lydia, Laura, Meg, Suzane, Carolyn, Hap, Glenn, Jim(pictured), David, Michael, and Michael as well as a few non-Troop volunteers Sally Vick, Sally Ellwood, and Janet Givhan.
