Good Morning Day 3

Sorry for hitting publish too quickly yesterday! Not enough coffee!

Sounds like most of the Scouts slept through the rain storm again last night which I think speaks to their activities during the day. Had a damp evening yesterday that started just as we were lining up for flag ceremony. Turned into a mad dash to the Dining Hall and kept raining off and on for the evening. Scouts were disappointed they didn’t get to continue their reign of dominance at GaGa Ball. Clearly one of their favorite activities so far.

Food continues to be one of the least favorite parts of camp. I must agree – not even up to school lunch standards. But, that’s about the only thing I’m disappointed about with Woodruff. Cool nights, fog clouds over the lake in the morning, great variety and quality programs: very good camp!

We head out to the Nantahala whitewater rafting and some are horseback riding this afternoon. Should be fun. And we have a flag retirement ceremony tonight. Was pretty impressive last year, so bet it will be a cool evening.

Our SPL and Patrol Leaders held their first PLC meeting last night and discussed how things were going. Out of that, they called a Troop meeting and discussed a few issues to work on – without adult prompting! Big steps!

All for now. Will try to capture some pics of the guys and share later. Good, dry thoughts are appreciated!
