Day 5 – Proud Moment!

This has been a year of firsts and tonight has been another. We have had a great week at Camp, but I have been nervous about the last flag lowering. There are awards in camp that you have to earn points for and helping to raise or lower the flags in front of the entire camp was one of them. I didn’t realize until it was done but I have been extremely nervous about this particular flag lowering: Troop 79 volunteered!

I have to say this was an amazing show of bravery and our guys did great! When they marched off the field I wanted to yell and scoop all of them up. Jacob lowered (which I had fears of it flying out of his hand) and Ethan, Henry, and Zack folded it. (again, I had fears of it falling on the ground and the whole camp gasping!) they did not dissappoint! They had a few bumps along the way, but they did a great job. Special thanks to SPL Jody and PL David for teaching and prepping them an everyone standing around learning together.

Again, it was a very proud Scoutmaster moment.
