A Last Day Good Morning to all!
We awoke to a misty morning but a bright yellow orb has appeared in the sky and it is beautiful at Camp Comer. Our final day has arrived and the guys are finishing some of their last requirements.
They had to work inside some on Thursday because of weather.
Then, the weather held long enough for the guys to work on Swimming:
After lunch, a few Scouts had some money burning a hole in their pocket so they tried Fried Oreos and Funnel Cakes:
Thank you Mr. Roney for coming up to help for the day yesterday and Mr. Quinn for staying the rest of the day. Mr. Purnell made it up for Thursday night and appreciate it.
We also participated in the camp wide Water Carnival. Our guys tried hard and did well. We find out results tonight.
Since our Scoutmaster forgot the flag and we haven’t been able to post it, we proudly brought it to closing Flag ceremony in the evening.
Then, last night we made Custer’s Delight (orange sherbert) after dinner the old fashioned way. They had hand-crank churns and we had a few Scouts take a turn. Surprisingly, they really took ownership and didn’t want to give up cranking! It was a great reward for sure!
Busy day today and look forward to our last full day. We will attempt to be home by noon at the latest and I will try to give a heads-up if miracles occur and we are able to leave early! Stranger things have happened!
